Until Then

Words & music by Courtney Spencer

The trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. -1 Peter 1:7

Verse 1
The reason for my trial
Is something I cannot yet see
All the doubts and fears I’ve carried
Have now become a part of me
The healing that You promised
Seems a million years away
Though my heart may now be breaking,
I will choose to say

I know You’re bringing healing
In a way that I can’t fathom
And I know You have a purpose
That I can’t even imagine
Right now I don’t see the reason why You chose me
But because of who You are and what You’ve been
I’ll be waiting for my healing until then

Verse 2
I don’t understand the sorrow
Or exactly why I’m here
And I question all my problems
But You assure me that You’re near
The healing that You promised
Must have a reason for delay
Though this is not what I have wanted
I will choose to say

Until then, My heart will go on singing
Until then, With joy I'll carry on
